Poem for Spring Equinox 2012: A Song of Silence

A Song of Silence

Precious child of creator

a song of silence

echoes within us and through the universe

Born spiritual holy with holy thinking

we honor the EAST Direction principles of balance in living

White Shell woman in the morning dawn blesses us

Precious youth

a song of silence

echoes within us and through the universe

Traveling on the four corn-pollen footsteps

we honor the SOUTH Direction principles of harmony in communication

Turquoise day to learn skills for our life journey

Precious adult and parents

a song of silence

echoes within us and through the universe

Living the loving way as a way of life

we honor the WEST Direction principles of peace in the family

Abalone Shell sunset for ceremony and blessing

Precious elder and grandparents

a song of silence

echoes within us and through the universe

Making win-win decisions for abundance in the next 7 generations

we honor the NORTH Direction principles of SELF-reverence

and reverence for the natural order to restore resources from elder to youth

Obsidian and jet midnight for beauty in environment

Precious children of creator and the holy people

a song of silence

echoes within us and through the universe

reigniting our fireplace, the hearth of our home, symbol of love

Crystal path of radiance for joy within our heart

as a humane being

Walking in beauty between mother-earth and father-sky

Living the loving way as a way of life

because hozho, the essence and substance of love is

a song of silence

that echoes within us and through the universe
